Roxane de la Sablonnière is an associate professor of Psychology at the University of Montreal. Here research explores the challenges that people face when exposed to profound social changes, such as colonialization  and how it effect the First Nations people of Canada. She also works with other groups of people facing social changes in a variety of social settings such as Mongolia, Russia, Kirghizstan and South Africa. Roxanne’s theoretical framework seeks to reconceptualise the theory of relative deprivation (RD) and the processes associated with the integration of new cultural identities into the individuals’ self concept.
