The CRE’s mandate is to develop and galvanize teaching and research activities on the subject of ethnic relations by elaborating new problems and theoretical approaches. It sets up international research networks and provides a welcoming environment for foreign researchers and students. It promotes theorization on ethnic boundaries within a variety of social fields, as well as work related to the ideologies, policies, and programs of pluralist societies. It helps articulate gender and ethnic relations, and works towards the sociological definition of citizenship. |
